The Joy of Painting for Kids

This one was made for my son
inspired by his favorite dog! I chuckled almost the whole time painting his little doggie details on canvas.

This one was painted for my little daughter,
now only 5 months old.

Although it may take a few years, it’s a nice personalized gift for her to enjoy when she gets a bit older.
This was painted from reality but the subject was a bit fidgety so a photo helped to capture the pose.

I started with an outline of the doggy silhouette and filled in the most distinctive characteristics such as his rare markings, etc.
Then I added in some color.

This one is reminiscent of an old bulldog painting I did back in 2008.
Then for my daughter’s floral.
I painted a quick outline just for perspective.
Now the same drill of adding the color.
Then lifting and adding shading.
Then I filled in the floral aspects and greenery.
Then I added a few signature
paint tricks I learned over the years.
Also artist note, don’t forget to sign it!

I like to seal it with a nice medium gloss.
Then display in a cute kid room!

No matter what you paint,
make it something fun and happy for your kids, friends, or other family members .

The best part is they know it was made just for them to enjoy and love for many years to come.
