Authentic Sicilian Style Pepperoni Pizza w/ Fresh Tomatoes and Basil


This recipe is great to make at home
and also fun to make together as a family.

Pizza Dough Balls
(Homemade or Store Bought, let rise for 3-4 hrs)
Marinara Sauce
All Purpose Flour
Mozzarella Cheese
Fresh Basil
Fresh Tomatoes

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
After the dough has a chance to rise for at least 3-4 hours in a bowl covered with a cloth, sprinkle with some flour, roll it out and press on a cookie sheet to make a rectangular shape.
Brush the edges with extra virgin olive oil.
Bake in a 450 degree oven for 7 minutes.
While the crust pre-bakes, take some of those yummy recently harvested tomatoes.
Grab some fresh basil.
Thinly slice tomatoes.
Remove dough from oven and preheat to 500 degrees. Top with marinara sauce.

Add on a few freshly sliced tomatoes.
Top with mozzarella.
Add the pepperoni and bake in a 500 degree oven for 6 minutes.
Chop and slice basil.
Carefully remove pizza from oven.
Top with fresh basil, slice pizza, and serve.
